Marc Chagall

We have a beautiful collection of Marc Chagall lithographs in the gallery. Chagall painted dream-like subjects rooted in personal history and Eastern European folklore. He was a Russian-French artist of Belarusian Jewish origin. An early modernist, Chagall art was associated with several major artistic styles and created works in virtually every artistic format, including painting, book illustrations, stained glass, stage sets, ceramic, tapestries and fine art prints.

Chagall was one of the best-known representatives of the Russian Avant-Garde in the West. A prolific and multi-faceted artist, Chagall left behind him thousands of works in many different techniques and media that have established him as one of the foremost artists of the 20^thcentury.
