Jean Cocteau Poteries Lithograph

Colour lithograph poster by Jean Cocteau, a French avant-garde poet, playwright and artist. This Jean Cocteau Poteries lithograph was designed for a Pottery exhibition at the Tribunal de Peche de Villefranche sur Mer. During his career, Cocteau made more than three hundred ceramic pieces at the workshop of Madeline Jolly, drawing parallels from the colour of skin to the pink colour of clay on which he ‘tattooed’ his drawings. Entitled ‘Astrologie’, the surreal design in this poster was later transferred to an earthenware dish. Comes with a Certificate of Provenance, signed and stamped by Eric Mourlot.

This beautiful and rare print can also be professionally framed in natural woods and waxes.
