House of Quinn x Rhoko Cushion
This special collaboration was designed for Rhoko’s love and inspiration of the Matisse cut out period. Each cushion is completely unique and will never be reproduced exactly the same again. They are hand made using traditional quilting and appliqué techniques. The cushions are made from natural textiles, a mixture of cotton, linen and ramie. With a recycled fibre wadding inside the cushion. Finished with hand binding and mitred corners. House of Quinn use a mix of sustainable textiles and renewed fabrics from textiles mills and fashion production where possible. Conscious materials are used to reduce waste and create new items for the home.
The cushion pads are a polyester cluster filling and have been hand made by a local family business in Sussex. The interior is a pollster fibre filling to combat the use of animal by products.
House of Quinn is a design studio and online concept store based in Sussex. Inspired by personal connections and how objects integrate into everyday life, HoQ proposes a simple edit of handmade objects that take on meaning through their use and function. Merging a minimalist aesthetic with form and utility to create items for living spaces.
Influenced by Cornish heritage, an interest in folklore and the ideas around daily rituals, House of Quinn takes a traditional approach in ‘making’ to create contemporary work.
