Joan Miró Personnage et Ouiseau Lithograph
This interesting lithographic was printed at the Atelier Mourlot in 1984, depicting the abstract form of a figure’s head with birds. Lithograph after original painting “Personnage et Ouiseau” 1969. The lithograph has been embossed beneath the left corner of the image with the Galerie Mourlot stamp.
The image in this lithograph continues on some of the central themes which populate his entire artistic career. It particularly refers to the artist’s obsession with birds, a motif that coincided well with his unwavering concern for independence and freedom. The gestural artistic approach, inspired greatly from his love and experience of Japan. You see this in the expressive and large, black brushstrokes, reminiscent of Japanese calligraphers – a huge source of inspiration and unyielding fascination for Miró.
