Le Vaucour Vase Vallauris
£320.00
Le Vaucour Sculpture Vessel
Another striking vase by ceramist Marino Le Vaucour, of Vallauris in The South of France, 1950. It holds a wonderfully unusual sculpted shape and the painted glaze design is reminiscent of Russian Constructivism. Black, white and grey textured French foam glaze, with a clear glaze finish. The Vallauris vase is irregular and free in its form and suggests a more fluid and dynamic creating process.
Dimensions: H41 x W19 x D7
Vallauris ceramics are extremely collectable editions to your home. The town is nestled among low coastal hills and with its rich supply of clay, has been a pottery-making centre since Roman times. The ceramic art of this region invariably has a distinctive look. Highly textured glazes or the expressive mid-century, modernist hand painted pieces, which typically characterise the town’s pottery.
